Over the last couple of years, Future Astronauts as a whole has grown quite a lot. We expanded with the new Horizons show, and continued to work on our Vessels compilations, and throughout that time, you guys have supported us. We’re massively grateful, especially to our Patrons who have been financially supporting us. But now for something new; a merch store.
In 2017, we had 39,342 total downloads and streams on the site alone (not including Mixcloud)… which we were blown away by. This year, we’re at 24,686 downloads and streams, and we’ve only just got half way through the year. We’re expecting much more growth, and while this is exciting and everything we could wish for, it does bring a slight problem… costs.
Whilst we are eternally thankful for our Patrons, the monthly donations will soon be overcome by our hosting and bandwidth costs. So, instead of begging for more donations, locking content behind Patreon tiers, or spamming the website with intrusive ads, we decided to build a store.
We’ll be selling t-shirts, hoodies, hats and more; with more merch to come in the future. We’ll be looking to link up with artists to produce unique designs for products and prints going forward. To say thank you to our awesome Patrons, they’ll be receiving exclusive discounts when we launch, and whenever we release a new product. Not only that, but we’ll be shipping worldwide. We’re hoping to launch the store in the next week or two, so stay tuned for updates.
